Neurotic – Beastmaster of Ramuh

Gaudy Harness Guide

Known to only a few, Ophiuchus Subligar for Gaudy Harness can be easily soloed by BST. Here are some tips for those who have not yet aquired their Gaudy Harness.

First of all, you need some basic things.

1. You need to have CoP and have completed up to 2-3, but don’t necessarily have to beat 2-3.
2. You need to have a level 40+ BST with good gear, you’re going to have to charm VT+ mobs. Note that I have done this naked before, but it does dramatically increase the danger.

Secondly, you could use the following, but isn’t 100% needed, but are still very helpful.

1. Reraise. If you fail at charming and end up dying, you might wanna give it another shot. Also useful if you die during the fight or on the way to the fight.
2. CHR+ food such as Flint Caviar or Tuna Sushi. MP Refresh drinks such as Yagudo drinks or Pinapple/Melon juices may come in handy as well.
3. Pet food such as Delta or higher. One stack is more than enough per session.
4. Sneak. Slimes on the way as well as Fomor, if you have high enough hate, will aggro.

Alright, now that you’re ready, you can head down to Tavnazian Safehold. The sewer entrance to Phomiuna Aqueducts is in the basement. Once you get into Tavnazian Safehold, walk towards the villiage and take a right. The ramp down is right there.

Once you get in, its pretty simple what you have to do. The only real danger would be the initial charming of your pet, and the true sight Taurus you have to run by.

As you can see, you don’t have to run far. When you start out, sneak up, there are a few slimes on the way that will aggro you. Begin running and take your first right, then the next left. This will bring you to a large room with 3 Taurus. Here isn’t too dangerous. These 3 are only decent challenge and are pretty close to zone. There are some decent challenge Pugils and Slimes on the way you can charm to take with you just in case you get aggro. Across the room is a ladder, you’ll need to run across the room, by either evading or killing the Taurus, and climb up the ladder.

Now that you are up top, you are in less danger. Again, take your first left, then your next right until you come to another ladder, which leads down this time. Keep sneak up since there is a single slime on the way to this ladder. When you do get to the next ladder, there are 3 Stegotaur that could be down below. These, again, are also true sight and considerably harder, about Very Tough. Once you are sure that it is safe to drop down, do so and run north into the tunnel.

In this tunnel are Oil Spills, your pets. Since they are in water, if you mischarm, it is possible to run and lose aggro. Try to get the maximum distance from them for a charm, attempt to charm, and immediately run south and out of the tunnel, half way across the room towards the ladder. By then, you should lose aggro, and if you don’t, try to recharm. Once/if you have charmed, Familiar, and get ready to head to the room where the Fomor Beastmaster pops. You may be able to make it across the room in a different way than I have shown on the map, but I found this easiest. Remember that Taurus’ have very linear sight, unless you are directly in front of them, they probably won’t see you.

From there, make it to the camp at the end of the line. Once you do make it to the camp, you will find 4 Fomors and 2 Bats. I had a Thief, Ninja, Dragoon, and Beastmaster. The Beastmasters pet is a bat, and will cause the other bats to link with it, so take care when pulling, and be sure to Fight your pet, then Heel it so it follows you into the tunnel. Have the Oil Spill take hate on both the Bat and the Beastmaster, but take out the Bat first. Your pet will autotarget the Beastmaster, so continue to switch its targets until the Bat is dead. Slimes, as you may or may not know, are extremely strong, and your slime will probably have at least 80%+ HP by the end of the fight.

If you did not get a drop on the first fight, which happened to me, simply wait in the tunnul for repops. The Fomor will repop in about ~15 minutes, so Familiar should keep you pet charmed. Once it repops, do the same plan over. Luckily, when it does repop, it will not have its pet summoned initially, so if you fight it fast, you won’t have to deal with a pet at all. Again, your slime will defeat the Fomor with ease, and still have 50%+ HP.

If you still did not get drop, your best bet is to log out and repeat the prcoess in 2 hours. Luckily, I got my drop on the second fight. If your Oil Spill does come uncharmed, your two options are to attempt to recharm and leave it, or to use a jugged pet, fight it, and run for zone. This thing was very difficult to charm and hit me for 80+, so you don’t want to let it become uncharmed. Plan accordingly.

Overall, getting you’re Gaudy Harness should prove to be easier than you though. It is extremely simple and not too dangerous. Good luck to all you future Gaudy Harness owners.

  5. A good tip also that I heard of, and used, is if you get aggro froma Taurus while you have your slime, sick the slime on it, run to some stairs, heel, then go up.
You will lose aggro with the Taurus.
